COMPANY PROFILE

 

RWE Systems Slovakia was founded in April 2004. Since the beginning the company’s main activities were software development, involvement in international projects and support and maintenance of IT solutions.

In January 2005 RWE Systems Slovakia had 22 employees who participated in projects in Slovakia and abroad within which they implemented:

  • solutions for complex billing of electricity for mass customers for the energy company STOEN in Warsaw on the basis of SAP IS-U
  • system SAP - ESM (Energy SAP Master)
  • system of billing regarding electricity consumption after the liberalization of the energy market in Slovakia for the company VSE a. s..

In 2008 the reorganisation of RWE Systems Slovakia took place and as of August 5th 2008 the company was renamed to RWE IT Slovakia.

In January 2009 the company started with 126 employees and till the end of the year their number grew by another 50 employees. In 2010 the number of employees swelled to more than 220.
Until December 2010 many activities have been performed within the subsidiary in Košice such as:

  • a centre of excellence for testing of software applications was established
  • participation in innovative projects of RWE Group with the topics of Smart Home and eMobility
  • development and support of business applications for customers across all of Europe that are based on e.g. the platforms JAVA and .NET
  • user support via phone within pan-European Service Desk
  • IT support for the Hungarian company ELMÜ / EMASZ.

The widening of activities and the increase of the number of employees are planned for the following years in great extent.

The company has launched a system of education and care for the employees. In addition to the development of language and professional skills, opportunities to take part in various sport and cultural events as well as the health care benefits are included.

RWE IT Slovakia is also active within the region and community. It cooperates with the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (UPJŠ) and the Technical University (TUKE) and is an active member of the association IT Valley.
