Speech-to-text reporters for the hearing-impaired people
The company RWE IT Slovakia joined together with VSE (Východoslovenská energetika a.s.) in a unique project Leonardo whose target is the education
of the speech-to-text reporters in Slovakia and Austria. The hearing-impaired people in Germany have been using the special services for several years now. These help the hearing-impaired people to eliminate communication barriers and integrate them into the social as well as professional areas of life.
The project “Propagation of the speech-to-text reporting education in Austria and Slovakia for supporting of the hearing-impaired people” is organised in Slovakia in cooperation with the German DSB e.V. (German association of the hearing-impaired people), ÖSB (Austrian association of the hearing impaired people) and the German company büscher kuntscher piorr (bkp) GbR, that is also the project coordinator,
for the first time.
Between the 26th of June and 2nd of July 2011 the XIXth International Indoor Football Tournament of Deaf Children under 16 took place in Prešov, in which also the prospective speech-to-text reporters from RWE IT Slovakia and VSE participated. They were present to offer their support to the hearing-impaired pupils from Slovakia, Czech, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Hungary, Nigeria, Poland and Kyrgyzstan during the preliminary discussions and at the official opening and closing
of the tournament.
