Success from New York

The company RWE IT Slovakia can really be proud of its two colleagues - Michal Pristáš and Marek Šuščák. Under the guidance of Jaroslav Porubän the clever
students of Informatics at the Technical University in Košice won the all-Slovak final
of the prestigious competition Microsoft Imagine Cup – Software Design and qualified for the world final in New York.

In the strong competition of 67 designs they made it in the category Software design with the project Mapz into the semi-final among the best 18. Historically the greatest number of students has registered for the competition – more than 350 thousand from 183 countries.

The topic of the ninth year of Imagine Cup was the call “Imagine a world, where the technology helps to solve the greatest problems”. The project Mapz caught the interest of the jury by complexity of the idea of help for the visually-impaired people. It concerns an integrated system, which can help in many respects with the space orientation.
